THE OPPORTUNITY - Watson is hiring a Regional Operations Manager to lead the operations teams at its five locations in Ontario. This is a full-time role with the need for regular travel. 


  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
  • Maintain an emphasis on our top priorities of Safety, Customer Service, Efficiency, and Teamwork


  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and uphold safety standards
  • Manage yard and fleet safety program – including maintenance and inspections

Customer Service

  • Oversee customer service and store management and maintain service standards
  • Utilize internal reports, processes, and procedures to help provide superior customer service
  • Network within industry and business segments


  • Regularly visit yards/ sites to perform audits on activities and performance
  • Perform all functions of operations processes and operate all related equipment
  • Prepare schedules and establish priorities and procedures to meet business demands
  • Track, measure and report on operational effectiveness and then investigate and resolve issues


  • Motivate, lead, and develop Operations Managers
  • Create and foster a competitive atmosphere
  • Provide clear direction to team members to ensure a high level of effectiveness
  • Manage coordination of the shipping, warehouse, operations, and delivery teams
  • Conduct semi-annual reviews with each team member utilizing pre-determined metrics
  • Mentor future leaders and develop collaborative relationships with customers

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, operations, and/ or transportation
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role with demonstrated leadership skills
  • A broad knowledge of building supplies
  • Previous experience driving a forklift considered an asset
  • Physically demanding
  • Regular travel to all locations including overnight
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
  • Excellent computer and business organization software proficiency
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Detail orientated with disciplined work habits
  • A positive can do attitude is essential
