The Opportunity

Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full Time Customer Service Representative to work out of our Call Centre in Langford

Key Responsibilities and Functions

(Include but are not limited to the following)

  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
  • Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities
  • Review and complete sales orders and quotes
  • Complete required information with accuracy such as: delivery time, delivery address, and special order or purchase information
  • Ensure accuracy of order paperwork
  • Build strong customer relationships through reliable call backs, follow up on deliveries
  • Manage and answer emails and phone calls
  • File and maintain records
  • Track orders and follow up
  • Assist customers with purchases, provide suggestions and recommendations on products and materials
  • Effectively communicate information to customers and sales team
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of: who called in orders, time, date, delivery instructions, number of orders, quotes, and errors
  • Complete sales transactions as required
  • Various administrative tasks as required

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in building supply
  • Certification or Diploma in Administration an asset
  • Customer Service experience is essential
  • Must be available to work and be scheduled for any hours between 6:00am and 5:30pm, based on the needs of the business
  • Experience in sales considered beneficial
  • A broad understanding of building supplies is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and networks
  • Detail orientated with disciplined work habits
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to read plans and/or the aptitude to learn
  • A broad knowledge of Windows is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional phone etiquette
