Our Langford location is currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Night Lead Hand. The Lead Hand is responsible for the supervision of yard staff to ensure objectives are met safely and efficiently. Together with other team members the Lead Hand delivers excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
  • Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities
  • Communicate with the operations team via telephone and email
  • Supervise and direct yard staff to maintain safety and efficiency
  • Schedule and assign work to staff
  • Ensure adherence to all company and safety policies
  • Continuously strive to achieve company objects regarding productivity and customer service
  • Ensure a positive and safe work environment
  • Maintain a clean organized warehouse
  • Obtain and follow clear direction from managers and ensure a high level of effectiveness
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in a related position
  • A valid forklift certification with a minimum of two years of experience
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license is an asset
  • A broad knowledge of building supplies and home improvement products
  • Superior leadership and organizational skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as team
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings
  • Physical requirements include:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
    • Standing for long periods of time
    • Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
